Meeting The Great Supervisors

Minutes of Meeting

15 March 2010, 04.00-05.00

Attendee : Harry Minas, Ruth Wraith, Diana Setiyawati

It was the first meeting of the three of us.
Harry offered Ruth to be my second supervisor and talked about some technical and paper works on it. It was great that finally a person who have been inspiring me for this last 5 years join me in this project.
Harry suggested me to have four supervisor, after both of them, he will ask Dr. Erminia Colucci to be the third. According to Harry, she will help me on the project management, will help me ensure everything to be on time, also will help the administrative requirement of the Uni. Off course she also a qualified Clinical Psychologist who will be a good resource person.

Harry asked me about the fourth person. I told him that I am thinking of Grant Blashki, due to his expertise on Primary Care. Also, I do hope can work with someone from Nossal. As Rob Modie, the director of Nossal said to me on the orientation meeting, "I have to ensure someone from Nossal will look after you during your study here..."
Hmm it's somewhat emotional reason, but Nossal Institute for Global Health is the organization where I landed on my first chance visiting Melbourne. Nossal also work with us on Aceh. We have very strong relationship....
But we will see, do Grant available to join us?

Later, we discuss about the topic.
The focus is undebatable: Primary Care Psychology
but a community resilience was somewhat doubtful....as the project "Integrating Psychologist into Primary Care" is relatively new. It will be a long journey to contribute to a community Resilience.
Then a priority research of CPMH, our new organization, come up.

Harry and Ruth agree to go to this direction: preparing psychologist through education
It's mean that "Evaluating Psychology Education" will be the topic

Then, they suggest me to:
1. mastering Endnote, use all of the facilities within this software
2. be as efficient as possible: manage summary, reference, bibliography
3. be familiar with a knowledge circle around the topic: "you have to be an expert in this area, certainly more than me"

Ruth, then ask me to discuss the expectation of the people behind me.........It's interesting to have a chance discussing my feeling with them

Finally, Harry will set the meeting on forthnigthly basis......I can't believe it: they will dedicate their time on my project.....
